Arbonne Protein Shake Recipes

So many options 🙂

Shake Basics

Staple Ingredients

You have several options for your shake’s liquid base. You can make a thicker short shake with only 8 to 16 ounces liquid, or have a thinner shake with 32 ounces liquid. TOTALLY up to you and your mood!

PRO TIP: When making a shake on-the-go with your shaker cup, be sure to add liquid first, then add the powder to the liquid, then shake. That way, you won’t get any clumps!

Filtered water is always a great choice for your shakes.

Non-dairy milks are delicious, plus they add a little fat for richness (remember: healthy fats are your friend). Use unsweetened and, when you can get it, organic.

  • Almond milk (unsweetened, organic if possible)
  • Coconut milk (unsweetened, organic if possible)
  • If you are doing the 30 Days program, no soy or rice milk.

Ice is the only other common basic ingredient!

Arbonne’s fiber boost is a good addition. If you are not getting enough fiber in your diet, 1/2 to a full scoop in your shake will help. This does fine in a shaker cup, too, you don’t need a blender for Arbonne’s fiber to mix well!

You can also add any powdered supplements to your shake, easy. The Greens Balance is delicious, several recipes actually call for it. I add Arbonne’s whole food vitamin/mineral supplement, don’t even know it’s there. Lots of people add their Digestion Plus (probiotic, prebiotic and digestive enzymes) to the mix, too.

Bananas? Bananas are tricky. They are low glycemic when green (and also a good prebiotic fiber), although carb count is still high. The glycemic index goes up as they ripen so if you gotta have that ‘nana, have a small piece of green, like 1/4 of a banana.

Avocado? Yes!!! Sound so weird at first, but you don’t even taste it, not even a little, promise. A small piece of avocado — like 1/8 — goes a loooong way to thicken a shake. You can even make a pudding shake with enough avo! The more avo, the thicker the result.

For supplies, Arbonne makes a great shaker cup (it’s in the nutrition section when you order, $9), perfect for on-the-go. I have 2 so I always have a clean one in the car.

And a blender: most any of today’s blenders will do the job nicely as long as it will crush ice. Some recipes call for ingredients like spinach and basil. For those ingredients, you’ll want one of the high speed blenders, like a Ninja or VitaMix (which will crush most anything!)
